The Department of School Education and Literacy has launched a national mission in 2109-20 to improve learning outcomes at the primary level through an integrated teacher training program called NISHTHA under the Center-sponsored scheme of Samagam Shiksha.
NISHTHA is a capacity building program for "Improving the Quality of School Education through Integrated Teacher Training". It aims to build efficiency among all teachers and school principals at an early stage. NISHTHA is the world's largest teacher training program of its kind. The basic objective of this vast training program is to motivate and equip teachers to encourage and promote critical thinking in students. This initiative is the first of its kind in which nationally standardized training modules have been developed for all the States and Union Territories.

Regarding the above topic that last year NISHTHA training was conducted in the entire state of Gujarat. In which 89297 primary school teachers were given face to face training. Due to the epidemic of Kovid-12, this year the training initiation platform will be conducted through online mode through the loyalty course. To connect primary teachers (including government grants, KGBV, Ashram School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Railway School and Sainik School) through Nisha to primary school, who did not take loyalty training last year. The district level has made necessary arrangements for smooth completion of all 12 courses of loyalty training for the remaining primary teachers (Government Granted, KGBV, Ashram School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Railway School and Sainik School). Necessary planning has to be done for its arrangement.
