The National Means — cum- Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMS) is conducted every year by Science Branch of Directorate of Education, Delhi usually in the month of November for the students studying in class VIII of Govt./Aided schools.
The National Means — cum- Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMS) is conducted every year by Science Branch of Directorate of Education, Delhi usually in the month of November for the students studying in class VIII of Govt./Aided schools. It is a centrally sponsored scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Govt. of India.
Eligibility:- The student studying in class VIII and must have secured 55% marks
(for general category) or 50% marks (for reserve category i.e. SC/ST/PH) in class
VII. The annual income of the parents of the student appearing in the examination
should not exceed Rs. 1,50,000/-( Rs one lac fifty thousand only) from all sources.
Under this scheme, it is proposed to award 100,000 scholarships to the gifted or meritorious students whose parental income is not more than Rs 1,50,000/- per annum from all sources. Each State /UT shall have fixed quota of scholarship which will be decided on the basis of enrolment of students in Class VII and VIII in the State/UT concerned and population of children of concerned age group of class VII and VIII. The scheme would provide reservation to different categories of students as per the State/UT norms; as different States/UTs have their own norms of reservation. However, the total number of scholarships to a particular State UT may be restricted to the allocation made by the Central Government. 1.2 These scholarships will be provided quarterly to the students studying as regular students in class IX in government, local body and government-aided schools. The scholarships will be paid from class IX till class XII for a maximum period of four years.
NMMS Scholarship Class 8th Syllabus 2022
In order to prepare for the NMMS scholarship exam 2022, the students must prepare as per the prescribed syllabus by the exam conducting body.
The exam question paper of Mental Ability Test (MAT) will cover the multiple – choice questions from topics like analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figure etc. The complete question paper will be based on verbal and non – verbal meta – cognitive skills such as reasoning and critical thinking.
The question paper of Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) will cover the class 7th and 8th syllabus subjects as mathematics, social science, science, general knowledge etc.
The students can refer to the NCERT books to complete the syllabus of NMMS scholarship.
For the MAT paper the mental math books of class 7th can be referred to by the students.
NMMS Scholarship 2022 – Books
The students must study from the experts recommended books in order to qualify the NMMS exam 2020. The referred books are provided below:

The books of class VII should also be referred by the students to understand the basic concepts of the subjects.
Apart from the syllabus books, the students must buy the practice paper of NMMS exam provided by various publishers.
NMMS Scholarship 2022 – Exam Pattern
